Choosing A Wedding Photographer – 5 Tips

To avoid disappointment when choosing a wedding photographer, here are 5 tips for choosing the right wedding photographer for you.

Other than your rings, the photos from your wedding day will be the only other keepsakes you have from the big day.

Choosing Your Wedding Photographer – 5 Top Tips:

1- Choose your Wedding Photographer Wisely.
Ask your friends who they used at their wedding and if they would recommend them.

Look at their portfolio and even ask to speak to previous couples.

2- Don’t go with the First Photographer
Even if you love the first photographer you meet, still speak to others. Even if you go back the first one, you will expose yourself to different styles of photography to help you decide on the shots you want

3- Meet with your Photographer
Sounds simple but so many people do not meet their photographer before the big day, having only spoken to them by phone. Why does this matter, you might ask? The photographer will only be able to get the best photographs if they can make you feel comfortable and relaxed.

4- Don’t Pick a Photographer Based on Price
As discussed at the beginning, your photographs are one of the only keepsakes you will have from the big day and they will provide a lifetime of memories.

When planning a wedding we have a budget in mind and we try to cut corners. Ironically the photography is often an area that couples scrimp on. My advice here is to invest in the best, you cannot go back and recreate the photos, so make sure you have no regrets.

5- Have a Pre-Wedding Shoot
Lots of photographers are now offering pre-wedding shoots as part of their package. I would recommend these to anyone.

Unless you are a model, the chances are, you are not used to posing in front of the camera. The pre-wedding shoot will help to make you both feel comfortable, understand what shots you like, and how the photos will look, to avoid disappointment.
